Abe Sapien FANART

I have had an idea for an Abe Sapien drawing for sometime now, I don't know quite how to go about it , so I thought I'd start with a few drawings of the fishmans face. I am not fond of drawing profiles-they always flatten out! Why?! Also, I am terrible when it comes to color. I am looking forward to comments and suggestions-but mercy please-there's not a lot of confidence here
