Grinning Gourd Rough by tarpalsfan Grinning Gourd Rough by tarpalsfan
My latest gourd Jack O Lantern, a whopping 2 1/2 inches tall this time! (almost).
.
This one was surprisingly thick hulled, and a bit tough to carve. I do not know how I didn't knock out any of those teeth. It took me quite awhile to do.
.
It looks better now, as it has been sanded and cleaned up. I did not make this one a bead, I think it would make a better party favor or decoration.
.
I will probably keep this one. :)
.
Let me know what you think of my latest gourd, please.
Thanks for looking!

This is super cute! What'd you use to carve such fine details on something so tiny? :wow:

Hi,
Thank you for the kind words! :)

I used a craft knife. X-Acto brand, size #5. :)

Oh wow, now I'm really impressed! :D I never would have guessed it was just an x-acto knife!

Yes, for the little gourds, that is what I use. :)

The geometry of the pencil designs really give it a outward anatomy. I find this better than your previous pieces.

This is a 'big' one, I have one at just an inch and a quarter tall. I haven't carved it yet.
.
I will paint these before the fall!
.
I am glad that you like it, Anita! from tarp
